HACHIDORI "Hummingbird House" (2633 sq ft)
With my love for traditional style Japanese architecture, I challenged myself to create a moderate sized home that
balanced traditional eastern style, with contemporary western expectations. I suprised myself as everything seemed to
fall into place in perfect balance and harmony. Start with two heavenly tatami mat rooms to greet you, before being
invited into the back of the house where a beautiful central garden brings nature and sunlight into the interior. Not an
attached sunroom to visit on occassion, but rather an integral part of daily life, visible from all the primary rooms.
This has become my new favorite. When I win the lottery next week, I fully intend to build this house for myself.
